I’ve been wanting to do this for a while — a space where I can actually talk like a person, not just a dog trainer behind a business page.

Because honestly, dog training isn’t just about the logistics of obedience. It’s about people. Emotions. The messy middle between “we’re doing great” and “I might list my dog on Craigslist.”

Or, in my personal experience, the “you wanna be a wolf? Go be a wolf” moment — as I contemplate leaving Trek in the woods to live his best life.

This journal is where I’ll unpack all of that — the stories, the screw-ups, the lightbulb moments, and the humor that keeps it all from getting too heavy.

You’ll find stories about:

• A dog walker gone wrong.

• How I completely messed up my first dog and what he ended up teaching me anyway.

• Conversations with clients that stuck with me long after the session ended.

• And a whole lot of lessons my own dogs — Ringo, Dozer, and Trek — have handed me, whether I was ready or not.

Some posts will make you laugh. Some might sting a little. But they’ll all be honest. Because I’ve learned that real growth — in dogs and in humans — doesn’t come from pretending we’ve got it all figured out.

No one does. So let’s be open about it, shall we?

You won’t find any “how-tos” or tutorials here. This is a “here’s what I’ve seen, what I’ve learned, and what the dogs keep teaching me” kind of space.

My hope is that it becomes a place to relate, reflect, and learn — together.
